Food Is Killing Us….

Let me start by saying this: I study nutrition. I’ve been studying it for over 6 years since I started my journey. I’m not so deep into it but I study it and practice it. I’ve experimented on my own body so I know what I’m talking about. The fact is OUR FOOD IS KILLING US.

It disturbs me that the documentaries on Netflix and streaming networks target meat as the culprit. Meat isn’t the problem. Would a reduction in the consumption of meat help us out? Sure. Too much of anything is never a bad thing…but is it the leading cause of obesity and heart disease in this country? HELL NO! Here’s the 3 things that are causing the chaos: Fast food (processed), Processed food (in grocery stores), and our lifestyle.

Fast food: Possibly one of the worst things to put into your body. Guess what? THE SHIT IS DELICIOUS!!!! I know this! It’s amazingly good but it was made to be just that! It was made to be delicious. It was made to have you wanting more. Of course it’ll be good. It doesn’t mean you have to consume it. It’s beyond processed. TERRIBLE. If you would watch documentaries like Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead and Super Size Me…you’ll see the destruction fast food causes. Not only does it affect the physical, it affects the mental as well, but that’s another story. I don’t want to make this entry too long.

Processed Food: In humanities attempt at convenience, we’ve totally went against biology. We screwed up when humans started creating food. The breakfast cereal, donuts, muffins, boxed foods, packaged foods, etc has destroyed us. We have veered from a whole food diet to a purely processed diet. Back then, we went out to hunt our food from the land or pick vegetables and fruit that grow from the land. We didn’t have an overhaul of food. It was scarce and we get what we can kill. There was no food made in factories and packaged and boxed to go on sale. For some who don’t know the difference between whole food and processed food, look at the below image. You see all those ingredients with all those chemicals in the frozen Fries? That’s processed food. Meat, vegetables, and other whole food don’t even have an ingredient list. The beans on the right as one ingredient. BEANS. That’s the difference. If I can recommend one thing, it’ll be to try your hardest to convert your diet into a whole food diet. Let me throw some numbers out there for you that first surged from the introduction of processed foods:

Cancer deaths in America: 606,880 deaths

Diabetes in America: 34.2 Million people

# of Obese people in America: 99 million people

Heart disease deaths in America: 647,000 deaths


ALL THOSE CASES ARE PREVENTABLE!!!! If we only eat how we were made to eat and live how we were made to live.


Lifestyles: We wake up, go to work for 8 hours under synthetic lighting, we stress our eyeballs out, eat processed food and fast food while sitting in our cubicle, get home dead tired and binge watch our favorite show while chubbing down on wine and ice cream. Then repeat this cycle day after day after day. Of course a problem will occur! We aren’t made to do this. But we need money to live right? Yes, you’re correct! There’s some things we can’t control but there’s also some things we can do to help ourselves. Maybe we can wake up an hour earlier and go for a speed walk or head to the gym? Maybe we can control what goes in our mouth while we are at work. We can watch videos on Youtube that teaches us how to handle stressful work environments. During the day, why don’t you go for a walk just to get fresh air? There’s things we can do to help ourselves guys.


All in all, YOU HAVE THE POWER TO LIVE A BETTER LIFESTYLE! All you have to do is make the decision to be healthier and take the action steps required. It’s tough to go against the pressures of society. It’s tough when every commercial on television is a fast food commercial. IT IS HARD! I live the same life you live. But there are many out there who attack it and live right and so can we.
